I have officially fallen in love with freeze dried food! I received my order from
Shelf Reliance and I have to say that I have found a new staple for my pantry. I bought mushrooms, spinach, and celery because these are things that I occasionally use for condensed soups, dips, etc. but I don't use them fast enough to make it economical to buy fresh because they would just go bad on me. They have a shelf life of about 25 years if unopened and 2 years if opened. I also bought a huge can of banana chips for the kids. Mmmmmmm, perfect for traveling! At regular price they are kinda pricey, but I waited until what I wanted was on sale then bought it. I am in no way affiliated or benefit from you visiting their site or buying from them. I am just really satisfied with their products and wanted to spread the joy.
Here is an amazing spinach dip recipe that I used some of the spinach in.
- 1 cup mayonnaise
- 1 (2 ounce) packages Knorr Leek mix (or veg. soup mix, but Leek is waaaay better)
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 (10 ounce) packages spinach, chopped, drained well (or about a cup of the prepared freeze dried spinach, more or less to your taste)
- round sourdough loaf
- Mix first four ingredients well and refrigerate 6 hours.
- Create cavity inside french or sour dough bread loaf.
- Reserve pieces for dip.
- Fill the cavity with Spinach Dip.
- Makes 2 cups.
Really cool! I'll have to try that dip recipe too!
