New House

View from the road
Now that we have FINALLY closed on our house, the fun begins.  But first, my dear hubby took some beautiful pictures of the new place.

The first room that we decided to tackle is the kitchen.  We are tearing out everything, including a wall.
Goodbye old cabinets, gross floor, and oddly placed wall!  These were the before pictures taken yesterday.  As of this evening all of the aforementioned issues are lying in a trash pile in the yard.
Here is a view of the other side of the kitchen.  A doorway (not visible) leads to the back entryway.
Doorway to dining room and hallway.
Looking into the kitchen from the hallway.  The door on the left is the stairway to the second floor.
Gross laminate floor GONE.  Now for at least two layers of stick on tile.
Second layer of sticky tile (this just keeps getting more and more fun).  This view is of the back entry and what will either be the laundry/mudroom or family room.
More wonderful flooring.
I don't have a picture of the kitchen sans wall, but tomorrow when we go back out I will be sure to take one.  Tomorrow we measure for cabinets and try to decide on paint colors.

where is this???so different from my area of the world in southern california...looks wonderful

  7. I know you are excited. Please keep the post coming. I love reading about your adventures.

  8. I'm so excited to see you getting to do work on your new home... I must say, it absolutely blows my mind when people move to a new place and start demo-ing right off. My daughter and son inlaw just did the same thing with their home. They purchased in November and still haven't moved in yet. They are almost ready to do that in about 3 or 4 more weeks.
I can't wait to see their finished home...and I can't wait to follow your process too.
It's all wonderful. I'd never be able to do something like that. It would be slow and steady progress for us, for sure.

    Have fun with it!

Thank you so much for taking the time to comment! I love hearing from my readers.
