A Finished Bathroom

The bathroom is finally finished!!  Trim is in, lights are up and water works.  So far this is the only room in the house that is completely done.

I have always wanted an antique claw foot tub.  This one was already in the bathroom, but needed to be partially refinished.  Nathan sanded down the outside, and applied a new coat of metal paint.  Per my request, he then painted the feet black.  They are hard to see in the picture, but they turned out quite nice.

Because are two nice linen closets in the hallway, we didn't have to worry about having lots of storage in the bathroom.  We special ordered the vanity base from Menards, and just happened to stumble upon the vamity top in a local hardware store.  Already clearanced at a good price, Nathan talked them down to an amazing price.  It included the backsplash and the sink, and has the most beautiful details.

I am so thrilled with how all of my random ideas were able to come together and look nice.  I had originally wanted to paint the bottom of the tub a bright color (yellow maybe?), but I'm glad we went with simple white.

A big props to my talented hubby, for all of his hard work!

  4. I just discovered your blog yesterday and read through many of your posts with great interest. I have a question. We are newly retired, have downsized and are slowly rennovating our place. With all of yiur plans do you ever get impatient to just "have it all done?" I'm finding it hard to execise patience to wait for things as time and money will allow!
