Backwoods Fencing

It always feels so good when you can mark something off your to-do list.  For us, it was the fencing.  What a job!

In addition to repairing and restringing the entire perimeter of our property, we removed old fence, added a cattle guard, and build a new fence separating pasture from yard.

Here is the fence along the yard.  We used timber from our property for the horizontal bars, and treated posts for the bases.  This design allows the cattle to get to the grass between the posts.

It's unique, it's rugged, and it's movable (kinda).  One of the pluses of this design is that you don't have to dig holes.  The posts are just sitting on the ground.

We still need to finish stripping the bark off the logs, but since that's just for aesthetic purposes, we are in no hurry.  Things are finally starting to come together and I am so excited!
