A Great Gate

I am beginning to think that my husband may be Superman.

We had talked about a fancy gate for the driveway, but I figured that was in the distant future.  Nope.

He cut down some trees on our property, stripped them, sealed the bases, and stuck 'em in the ground.  Well, there was a little more to it than just sticking them in the ground, but he made it look easy.

The metal gate was originally at the entrance along the road.  He cut it in half and added the metal ring.  The ring is actually part of an old wagon wheel that was rotting in the back yard.  It fit perfectly!
The design in the center is made up of three "H"s, for Triple H Acres.  My favorite thing about the letter "H" is that it looks the same comming and going.
One of the best things about this project?  It only cost us fuel for the chainsaw and tractor, and electricity for the welder.  Fantastic job Superman!
Of course we couldn't resist carving our initials into it.

  1. I think it looks awesome! If I had a gate it would say EEE or Triple E or Tripoli. No, just kidding. I really like your gate, but it fits the size of your property. Ours is a bit small for a ranch-like name. Never hurts to dream.
